“It is an honor and great privilege to share with you the profound impact Roxanna has had on my life. Through her teachings and her presence I have healed my relationship with my mother, committed myself to a life-changing discipline of meditation, and have touched upon bliss. I look to Roxanna as a source of inspiration and light. Her being emanates compassion, healing, and genuine joy. She is a true bodhisattva living among us.”

Sea Level ~ ReSource List

I offer you, my reader and comrade ~ aboard this vessel we call ‘life’~ a few of the resources I’ve found to be anchors, lighthouses, and/or north stars along the way of life and all of its passages. A most treasured experience from graduate years in sculpture sparkles on the surface of memory as I prepare to publish an abbreviated ‘Bibliography’ for you ~

Circa 1977:San Francisco State University ~ I enrolled in a ‘Visionary Sculpture’ class taught by Seymour Locks. He was the quintessential mad professor type - with a handle bar moustache, curly-wild salt & pepper hair, and a devilish twinkle in his eyes. As teacher’s assistant, I felt the twinkle dance the studio alive before students arrived.

Then, when class began, blinds were drawn in a small classroom, chairs equidistantly placed in rows as if we were viewing a film. We were ~the film was our own imagination unfolding, tapped into and cultivated by a guided visualization by Seymour.

Seymour was adept in guiding young and old to an inner land of wonder and mystery while weaving in bits of esoteric wisdom gathered over a lifetime of three score and three more years. Although most of his teaching was far outside the box, Seymour followed certain protocol, like a reading list. When I received the “Bibliography for Visionary Sculpture” I remember a rush of excitement ~ my spine lengthening, my mind expanding beyond its familiar limits . . . into a vast open unknown. I rushed to the library, looked up the books, and a slow anxious churning in my gut began.

I called Seymour for an ‘Office Appointment’.

Fast forward ~

Sitting in his office, I wasted no time with niceties. Seymour, I don’t know where to start; I know I will never be able to get through even half! Do you expect us to read all of these books this semester? Seymour chuckled, eyes sparkling with mischievous wisdom, No, no, no, Roxanna . . . this is a resource list for your lifetime. If you read everything here during your life you’ll be far ahead of most.

Following Seymour’s example, hopefully with sparkles twinkling through time and space, Sea Level ReSources are meant as a guide and a way to re~Source throughout your life on this planet. En-joy, read aloud when you can, sing often, and, by all means dream . . . and allow your creative spirit to unfold your life. I wish you a long, safe, wondrous journey with great joy.

Sea Level ReSources is born from this past, along with many other academic and life experiences. Sea Level is a good place to start ~ more comprehensive resource lists are provided at retreats and classes on the given area of study/exploration.
